YU Kin-Sang, Benny

Benny Yu is a director, producer and puppeteer. He graduated from Drama School of Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (Directing). He is one of the founders of BHT Theatre from 2011.

His Work in theatre company K.O.The Box “Gu Cheng and the Hallow Land” received the nomination of Outstanding Director at The 7th Hong Kong Theatre Libre. BHT Theatre “Useless” received the nomination of Outstanding Production at The 6th Hong Kong Theatre Libre and “Try to be funny“ was awarded the Best Director “Comedy And Farce“ and Outstanding Production of the Year at the 30th Hong Kong Drama Awards

The small theater Company bid for the touring drama. After the negotiation between the troupe’s brain and the government official Chung Kwok Yung, Mr. Chung said that the ultimate goal of the performance was “funny”. Mr. Chung controls the right to kill the touring drama. The small troupe faced layers of “oppression” and tried to make laughter. How should small theatre company face between “feeding” and “dignity”. What is the purpose of “touring drama”?
