Founded in 2007, CMHK is devoted to the promotion and presentation of contemporary music and cross-disciplinary practices in sound

Since 2009, CMHK had worked closely with the Leisure and Cultural Services Department to present multi-disciplinary and exploratory productions and draws simultaneously from diverse disciplines ranging from music, sound and theatre, to technology, circus, moving images and spatial installations

Many of the productions feature either important pieces from the contemporary music repertoire that are never before heard in Hong Kong, or more familiar compositions presented in fresh, multimedia contexts

Sonic Transmission

Sonic Transmission is an artist exchange program initiated by CMHK, with the goal of exposing the works of the best of Hong Kong’s sound artists to the wider Chinese sound art community. In collaboration with organizations that share our commitment to further the discourse of sound, it features Hong Kong artists in solo performances outside of Hong Kong. Between September 2012 and June 2017, CMHK has already presented a total of 15 Hong Kong artists to perform or exhibit in Shanghai, Beijing, Taipei and Chicago.
