Yat Po Singers

The first professional a cappella choral theatre company in Hong Kong. The founding Co-Artistic Directors are Patrick Chiu, Ng Cheuk Yin and Yuri Ng. Currently led by Ng Cheuk Yin as the Artistic Director, and Anna Lo as the Associate Artistic Director, the Company focuses on producing and developing original works in order to promote a cappella art and demonstrate the innovative interaction of music and theatre. Besides, the Company aims at enriching the arts scene particularly by nurturing young composers and artists, audience building and arts education.

Over the years we’ve all had our individual stories transpire in this karaoke. Perhaps we all came here for different reasons, excitedly, unwillingly, or you didn’t care. But when the evening drew to a close and the lights were turned back on, we all left with a certain sense of gratification, a certain peace of mind. Except, on this final night, when everything needs to come to a halt, when even the cover charge is waived, why does everything feel so alien? Is there no longer any trace of that familiar feeling of release?
