Collide’s rich visual landscape ranges from electronic parts of VHS recording device to motional Hong Kong cityscape, with images of glitch art showing lines, spinning the multiple layers of the graphics of neon lights showing alphabet letters. Evoking the neuroses of Hong Kong life, the abundant and poignant images collided with synchronised beats of electronic music. Created by Choi, lauded as “one of Hong Kong’s most intriguing musicians” by CNN, the energetic Collide shows the fast-paced rhythm of diverse and hybrid Hong Kong city under the collision between the realistic and virtual graphics through the audiovisual performance format.
